Job OverviewThe Principal Civil Engineer will lead the civil, structural, and architectural engineering efforts for large-scale power generation projects, including gas turbines – simple and combined cycle facilities. This role is pivotal in ensuring the structural integrity, constructability, and regulatory compliance of all civil works from design through commissioning.The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in civil engineering for energy infrastructure and a strong commitment to safety, quality, and collaboration. Essential Job Duties andResponsibilities:• Engineering Leadership: Lead the civil, structural, and architectural scope of work, including foundations, site grading, drainage, structural steel, and building design. • Design Oversight: Review and approve design packages, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry standards.Provide upfront design direction to Engineer of Record. • Construction Support: Provide support during construction, including coordinating resolution of design issues, RFIs, and change management. • Geotechnical Coordination: Interface with geotechnical consultants to ensure appropriate foundation design and soil-structure interaction. • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all CSA work complies with applicable codes (IBC, ACI, AISC, ASCE) and environmental regulations. • Vendor & Contractor Coordination: Review and provide input to technical bid evaluations, post award coordinate vendor submittal review with the EOR, interface between EOR and civil subcontractors and site teams to ensure timely and quality execution.• Quality Assurance: Oversee civil inspections, testing, and documentation to ensure adherence to specifications and standards. • Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with electrical, mechanical, I&C, and procurement team members to ensure integrated project delivery. Required Experience/Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (required)• Professional Engineering license (preferred)• 15+ years of experience in civil engineering for power generation or heavy industrial projects• Strong knowledge of structural analysis, foundation design, architectural standards for power plant buildings, and construction practices• Experience with design software (e.g., STAAD.Pro, RISA, AutoCAD Civil 3D)• Familiarity with permitting and environmental compliance for energy projects• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills• Ability to work independently Apply tot his job
