[Remote] CONTRACT eDiscovery Counsel
Note:The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. TruLegal is a global technology Fortune 20 company seeking a razor-sharp eDiscovery Counsel for a long-term secondment. The role involves working with lawyers to shape eDiscovery AI products and litigation strategies, requiring deep knowledge of eDiscovery case law and technology negotiation skills. Responsibilities• Develop and maintain subject matter expertise in U.S. and global legal and regulatory obligations relating to litigation, discovery, and information governance• Apply legal, eDiscovery, and information governance knowledge, principles, practices, and experience when partnering with in-house and outside counsel on active litigation, regulatory, and investigation matters• Meaningfully contribute to the design, implementation, and execution of eDiscovery and information governance templates, policies, strategies, and workflows• Rapidly identify, analyze, and address complicated issues, and distill that complexity into simple and concise communication in cross-functional settings• Work collaboratively with the eDiscovery and Information Governance team, as well as case and policy teams, business partners, outside counsel, and vendors• Enthusiasm and motivation to learn and understand complex, cutting edge technology and data related concepts, effectively discuss those concepts with technically skilled individuals, and apply that knowledge and understanding to discovery and legal strategiesSkills• J.D.(or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one U.S. State Bar• Significant legal experience at a law firm, government agency, or in-house corporation with a focus on litigation, information governance, and regulatory matters• Experience building partnerships and coordinating with a variety of audiences, including legal, technical, and policy teams, and communicating across cross-functional partnerships• Experience learning and understanding complex technology and data related concepts, effectively discuss those concepts with technically skilled individuals, and apply that knowledge and understanding to discovery and legal strategies• Experience with eDiscovery and information governance technology and tools• Experience applying analytical and problem-solving skills, sound judgment, and legal knowledge to address complex issues and develop practical solutions• In-house technology company experience• Experience in developing and validating technology assisted review programs• Exceptional presentation, organizational, and project management skills• Experience managing a fast-paced workload while maintaining priorities and anticipating issuesBenefits• Competitive package• Excellent resume-building opportunityCompany Overview• TruLegal (formerly TRU Staffing Partners) is where trusted legal talent meets the demands of an AI-enabled market.It was founded in 2010, and is headquartered in New York, New York, USA, with a workforce of 51-200 employees.
