[Remote] Lead Data Engineer / Data Architect

TEK NINJAS is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to lead enterprise-grade data architecture initiatives within a high-performing financial services environment. The role involves data platform engineering, data modelling, pipeline design, and a strong focus on data quality and governance. Responsibilities • Lead and define the data architecture strategy for enterprise data platforms • Design and implement data models (Conceptual, Logical, Physical) and data integration frameworks • Develop and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using AWS Glue, Snowflake, and Python • Translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and cost-efficient data solutions • Optimize Snowflake performance (query tuning, resource management, warehouse sizing) • Implement data engineering best practices, reusable design patterns, and modern cloud architectures • Ensure data quality, validation, and consistency across pipelines and systems • Collaborate with business, architects, PMs, and analysts to align deliverables with enterprise goals • Provide leadership and mentorship to onsite/offshore data engineering teams • Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and privacy frameworks • Document data flows, transformations, lineage, and architecture diagrams • Troubleshoot and resolve pipeline failures, performance bottlenecks, and system issues Skills • 10+ Years of experience in data engineering • Deep experience in SQL • Deep experience in Python • Deep experience in AWS Glue • Deep experience in Snowflake • Experience in financial services data domains • 7+ Years of experience in Data Architecture & Modelling • 8+ Years of experience in Data Engineering (ETL/ELT) • 4–6 Years of experience in Snowflake Data Platform • Strong leadership skills to mentor offshore/onshore teams • Ability to collaborate with business stakeholders daily • Experience in designing and implementing data models (Conceptual, Logical, Physical) • Experience in developing and optimizing ETL/ELT pipelines using AWS Glue, Snowflake, and Python • Experience in optimizing Snowflake performance (query tuning, resource management, warehouse sizing) • Experience in implementing data engineering best practices, reusable design patterns, and modern cloud architectures • Experience in ensuring data quality, validation, and consistency across pipelines and systems • Experience in collaborating with business, architects, PMs, and analysts to align deliverables with enterprise goals • Experience in ensuring compliance with data governance, security, and privacy frameworks • Experience in documenting data flows, transformations, lineage, and architecture diagrams • Experience in troubleshooting and resolving pipeline failures, performance bottlenecks, and system issues Company Overview • Tek Ninjas develops and delivers innovative technologies in web, app development, cloud and mobility along with a professional service.
