Job SummaryJusticeAid Nigeria is seeking a highly motivated and detail-orientedRemote Legal Research Intern to join our dynamic NGO team. This role is designed for individuals passionate about legal advocacy, human rights, and policy research. As a Legal Research Intern, you will assist in conducting in-depth legal research, preparing reports, and supporting our legal team in projects aimed at promoting justice and social equity across Nigeria. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere while gaining hands-on experience in NGO legal operations.Key Responsibilities• Conduct comprehensive legal research on national and international laws, regulations, and case precedents relevant to ongoing projects. • Prepare well-structured research reports, memos, and briefs for the legal team. • Support the drafting of policy documents, advocacy materials, and position papers. • Assist in reviewing contracts, agreements, and other legal documents. • Collaborate with team members to provide research-based insights for legal strategies and campaigns. • Monitor legal developments and report on updates that may impact NGO programs or advocacy initiatives.• Participate in virtual meetings and contribute ideas for legal and policy initiatives. Required Skills and Qualifications• Current enrollment or recent graduation in Law (LLB, LLM, or equivalent). • Strong interest in human rights, public interest law, or NGO advocacy work. • Excellent research and analytical skills with attention to detail. • Proficiency in legal databases, online research tools, and Microsoft Office Suite. • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English. • Ability to work independently in a remote environment and meet deadlines.Experience• Prior internship or volunteer experience in legal research, advocacy, or NGO work is an advantage but not mandatory. • Exposure to policy analysis or report writing will be considered a plus. Working Hours• Flexible, remote working hours tailored to the intern’s availability. • Estimated commitment: 15–20 hours per week. • Duration: 3–6 months (with potential for extension based on performance).
