[Remote] Senior Backend Node.JS Developer

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. BigStep Technologies is seeking a Senior Backend Developer with strong expertise in Node.js and a solid understanding of backend architecture, cloud infrastructure, and database management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend systems that power the company's applications and services. Responsibilities • Design and implement robust, scalable, and maintainable backend solutions using Node.js (must-have) • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (frontend, DevOps, product, QA) to deliver high-quality software solutions • Work on microservices architecture, ensuring efficient communication between services • Develop RESTful APIs and integrate with third-party services • Optimize application performance, scalability, and security • Manage and optimize databases — MongoDB and PostgreSQL • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for seamless deployment and delivery • Work with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) for hosting, monitoring, and scaling backend services • Write clean, well-documented, and testable code • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to best practices across the engineering team Skills • 6+ years of professional experience in backend development • Expertise in Node.js and JavaScript/TypeScript • Strong understanding of databases — MongoDB (NoSQL) and PostgreSQL (SQL) • Experience with cloud technologies (AWS preferred) — EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, etc • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and related tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI) • Solid understanding of API design, authentication (OAuth, JWT), and microservices architecture • Familiarity with containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment • Hands-on experience with Golang development • Exposure to DevOps practices and cloud infrastructure management • Experience in performance tuning, monitoring, and observability Company Overview • BigStep Technologies is an end-to-end digital technology solutions provider.
