We are a forward-thinking firm looking for a Remote Tax Manager to lead our real estate and construction service line. This role is designed for a technical expert who enjoys solving the puzzles of 1031 exchanges and special allocations while working in a 100% paperless, flexible environment. Key Responsibilities • Technical Review: Lead the review of complex 1065 returns, specifically focusing on real estate and construction clients. • Specialized Advisory: Manage intricate tax scenarios, including 1031 exchanges, special allocations, cost segregation studies, and partnership agreement analysis. • Engagement Management: Act as the primary lead for client engagements, overseeing workflows from initial research to final delivery and billing. • Team Supervision: Mentor and guide project teams, providing constructive feedback and fostering a collaborative, knowledge-sharing culture. • Process Leadership: Leverage technology (CCH Axcess/Engagement) to streamline tax research and reporting in a digital-first workspace. Qualifications/Requirements • Credentials: Active CPA license is mandatory. • Experience: 5+ years of recent public accounting experience with a heavy focus on the real estate sector. • Niche Expertise: Proven experience with Partnership tax (1065), including cost segregation and specialized real estate tax strategies. • Tech Savvy: Expert proficiency in CCH Axcess & Engagement and MS Office; comfortable adopting new cloud-based tools. • Communication: Strong ability to relay complex tax issues to clients and team members clearly and confidently.
