Description • Are you a seasoned SAP Materials Management (MM) expert with a passion for driving digital transformation within federal environments? ESS Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced SAP MM Consultant to join our dynamic team, contributing to critical projects for a federal customer. This role is pivotal in supporting the configuration of SAP MM functionality and plays a key part in the broader program's mission to modernize existing Enterprise Central Component (ECC) systems into a consolidated SAP S/4HANA environment. • As an SAP MM Consultant, you will be instrumental in analyzing current business processes within existing ECC systems. Your expertise will be crucial in identifying how these processes need to be re-engineered and designed for seamless transition into the new S/4HANA landscape. This involves deep dives into procurement, inventory management, warehouse management, and invoice verification processes, ensuring they align with best practices and the strategic objectives of our federal client. • You will actively participate in Business Process Re-engineering (BPR) sessions, collaborating with stakeholders across various departments to understand their challenges, requirements, and desired outcomes. Your ability to translate complex business needs into effective SAP MM solutions will be paramount. This includes designing, configuring, testing, and deploying SAP MM functionalities such as Purchase Requisitions, Purchase Orders, Goods Receipts, Invoice Verifications, Material Master, Vendor Master, Inventory Management, and Valuation. • A significant aspect of this role involves leveraging your deep understanding of SAP MM to support the migration strategy from ECC to S/4HANA. You will contribute to the design and configuration of the S/4HANA MM module, ensuring it meets the specific demands of a federal agency. This may include adapting standard functionalities to comply with government regulations, reporting requirements, and unique operational needs. • Your responsibilities will extend to developing functional specifications for any necessary customizations, enhancements, or integrations with other SAP modules (e.g., FI, CO, SD, PP) and non-SAP systems. You will work closely with ABAP developers to ensure the successful implementation of these specifications. • Furthermore, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation, including configuration guides, user manuals, training materials, and test scripts. Conducting end-user training and providing post-go-live support will also be a key part of your role, ensuring a smooth adoption of the new system and processes. • The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset, exceptional problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a high-performing team. You should be adept at managing multiple priorities, meeting deadlines, and communicating effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences. • This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking organization that values continuous learning and professional growth. ESS Inc. offers significant advancement opportunities for dedicated professionals who are eager to make a tangible impact on critical federal IT modernization initiatives. If you are looking to build your career in a challenging yet rewarding environment, this role is an excellent fit. We are committed to fostering a culture of innovation and excellence, and we are looking for individuals who share our vision for transforming government operations through cutting-edge SAP solutions. • Your contributions will directly influence the efficiency and effectiveness of federal procurement and supply chain operations, ensuring our client can better serve its mission. You will be at the forefront of SAP S/4HANA implementation in a federal context, gaining invaluable experience and shaping the future of their IT infrastructure. • The role requires a proactive approach to identifying potential issues and proposing solutions before they impact the project timeline or client operations. You will be expected to stay abreast of the latest SAP MM and S/4HANA developments, bringing innovative ideas and best practices to the team. Your expertise in change management and user adoption will be crucial in ensuring the successful transition to the new system. • We are looking for individuals who are not only technically proficient but also possess strong interpersonal skills, enabling them to build rapport with clients and colleagues alike.
