Senior Lead QA Engineer (Contract, Remote – USA)
Job Description This is a remote position. About the Role We’re looking for a Senior Lead QA Engineer to own and elevate our quality strategy across products. This role blends hands-on testing, test automation leadership, and team mentorship. You’ll work closely with Engineering, Product, and stakeholders to ensure we ship reliable, high-quality software at scale. Key Responsibilities • Define and lead the overall QA strategy, processes, and best practices • Own test planning, execution, and reporting across multiple projects • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of QA engineers • Drive test automation strategy and implementation (UI, API, and / or mobile) • Collaborate with Product Managers and Developers to define acceptance criteria • Ensure quality is embedded early in the SDLC (shift-left testing) • Review requirements, designs, and technical solutions for stability • Track and communicate quality metrics, risks, and release readiness • Champion continuous improvement in tools, frameworks, and workflows Requirements • 7+ years of experience in Quality Assurance or Software Testing • 2+ years in a QA Lead or Senior QA role • Strong experience with test automation frameworks and tools • Solid understanding of SDLC, Agile / Scrum methodologies • Hands-on experience testing web applications, APIs, and / or mobile apps • Experience with CI / CD pipelines and integrating automated tests • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills Nice to Have • Experience with performance and / or security testing • Cloud experience (AWS, Azure, GCP) • Experience scaling QA practices in fast-growing teams • ISTQB or similar certifications Benefits Requirements Data Engineering SQL (advanced) Python or Scala Data modeling (fact and dimension tables) Data Platforms Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, or Azure Synapse Airflow, DBT, or similar orchestration tools Cloud AWS, Azure, or GCP Experience with cloud storage and computer services Nice to Have Streaming data experience (Kafka, Kinesis) CI / CD for data pipelines Experience in regulated or data-heavy environments Apply tot his job
