**Senior Manager, Customer Claims and Insurance – Global Risk Management and Insurance Expert**

As a Senior Manager, Customer Claims and Insurance, you'll play a critical role in shaping our risk management and insurance strategies, ensuring the seamless execution of our claims processes, and driving business growth through effective management of our global insurance programs. **Job Summary:** We're seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Manager, Customer Claims and Insurance to lead our global risk management and insurance functions. As a key member of our leadership team, you'll be responsible for developing and implementing policies, programs, and processes that drive business growth, improve customer satisfaction, and mitigate risk. Your expertise in insurance, risk management, and claims will enable you to navigate complex global insurance markets, negotiate with insurers, and develop innovative solutions to meet the evolving needs of our customers. **Key Responsibilities:** * Manage risk profile, insurance renewal functions, and claims functions, including customer inventory and cargo loss and damage claims, errors and omissions claims, property claims, and third-party liability claims outside of the US and Canada. * Oversee the customer-focused Shipper's Interest program and Declared Value solutions, ensuring seamless execution and effective management of these critical programs. * Manage at least 2 full-time exempt direct reports, providing coaching, skills development, recognition, and rewards to drive staff productivity and performance. * Plan, organize, staff, direct, and control the day-to-day operations of the department, developing and implementing policies and programs as necessary. * Develop and manage the department budget, ensuring compliance and addressing variances and other budget concerns. * Manage global insurance-related functions, including insurance renewals, risk analysis, financial analysis, and reporting on risk functions. * Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to manage claims processes, including internal department employees and outside claims adjusters and insurers. * Set insurance revenue and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) goals, as appropriate, to drive business growth and improve customer satisfaction. * Manage global vendor risk assessment and insurance verification process, ensuring compliance with arenaflex's risk management policies. * Manage corporate and international surety bonds, ensuring effective management of these critical risk management tools. * Perform various system updates and data loads as required by the business or other supported areas. * Assess company risk and opportunities, executing action plans to mitigate risk and drive business growth. * Contract reviews and coordination with legal on negotiations relating to insurance, liability, and claims provisions in contracts. * Project-related tasks, including new ventures and specialized risk evaluations, to drive business growth and innovation. * Communicate effectively with internal and external partners, ensuring seamless execution of global risk management and insurance functions. **Education and Experience Requirements:** * Bachelor's degree in risk management, Business, Finance, or related field preferred, with 8 years of relevant experience. In lieu of degree, high school diploma or GED and 10 years of relevant experience. * Insurance Designation is preferred (such as Associates in Claims AIC, or associate in risk management (ARM), or equivalent designation) Five years (5) of risk management or similar financial field. * Freight forwarding and customs brokerage experience is preferred. * Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office products, with strong Excel skills preferred. Demonstrated ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks with accuracy and attention to detail. * Strong data and analytical skills, including understanding financial data.
