Video + Audio Editor Needed for Narrated Short Stories (YouTube)
Hi there, I’m a writer who recently started publishing my unpublished short stories on YouTube as narrated videos. Think audiobook energy, just shorter, usually 15–45 minutes per story. I narrate the stories myself. Up until now, I’ve also handled all the audio and video editing. Unfortunately… I’m not very good at that part. (In truth, I’m bad at it. Like impressively bad.) So I’m looking for a reliable video + audio editor to take over post-production and help bring the overall quality up a notch—especially on the audio side, which is the top priority. This is a long-term opportunity for the right person. And by “right person,” I mean someone whose work is on point and on time. I’m easy-going, communicative, and don’t take myself (or much of anything) too seriously. If you enjoy fun projects, good stories, terrible narration moments, and a truly unnecessary number of bad puns, you’ll probably feel right at home here. Here are two videos from my channel: And What You’ll Be Doing: Edit YouTube videos (length varies: ~15–45 minutes) Clean and enhance raw narration audio (noise reduction, leveling, clarity — this part matters a lot) Sync audio and video Cut mistakes, long pauses, and filler words Create a short blooper reel at the end of each video (à la old Jackie Chan movies — I regularly forget how to speak) Add simple transitions, zooms, and general visual polish Insert b-roll, images, or simple visuals when appropriate Add basic motion graphics, lower thirds, or captions (nice to have, not required) Deliver videos optimized for YouTube pacing, engagement, and retention. Requirements: Strong audio editing skills (this is the most important requirement) A good sense of pacing and storytelling Proficiency with tools like Premiere Pro, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve, After Effects, Audition, etc. (For reference: I record narration in Audacity) Fluent in English (to understand narration and context) Reliable, communicative, and able to meet deadlines. Nice to Have (Not Required): Experience editing YouTube videos or podcasts Knowledge of YouTube retention and pacing best practices Thumbnail or basic graphic design skills (My thumbnail game is… not great). Project Details: Videos per week: 2 Posting schedule: Tuesdays & Thursdays Turnaround time: Final edit due Monday & Wednesday by 12 PM EST Budget: $20–$30 per video (with room to increase once the workflow is smooth) Long-term work available if we’re a good fit. How to Apply: Please include: Links to relevant video or YouTube samples A brief description of your experience Your rate per video or hourly rate Your favorite editing software (Optional but appreciated) Any YouTube channels you’ve edited for Looking forward to finding someone who enjoys storytelling, doesn’t mind a bit of chaos, and can make me sound like I know what I’m doing. That last one might be a challenge — audio is the focus. Apply tot his job
