Benefit Strategy Consultant, Actuary- Remote
About the positionResponsibilities• Ensuring timely delivery of materials and meeting internal and external deadlines• Leading and coordinating enhancement to tools and processes utilized by the Benefit Strategies team• Supporting creation of new tools and processes under the guidance of a Benefit Strategist in relation to new and existing business needs• Supporting and presenting at external meetings with clients and consultants• Peer reviewing financial modeling and client materials• Modeling and forecasting plan performance for new clients• Providing renewal & forecast support for existing clients• Evaluating individual employer and book-of-business performanceRequirements• Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline• 3+ years of experience in a health benefit financial/pricing role• Familiarity with health plan analytic principles, practices, and techniques to interpret plan experience and utilization data• Data manipulation and presentation skills, including MS Excel & PowerPoint• Proven ability and desire to build relationships externally while collaborating with sales teamsNice-to-haves• Actively pursuing actuarial exam track• Experience working as Benefits Consultant for large and jumbo employers, preferably in the self-insured employer group market• Proven solid understanding of health insurance and plan design concepts, preferably in the self-insured employer group market• Proven solid presentation and communication skills, including a demonstrated ability to build relationships with HR leaders• Proven ability to navigate new and emerging situations with efficient and accurate problem solving skillsBenefits• Comprehensive benefits package• Incentive and recognition programs• Equity stock purchase• 401k contribution Apply tot his job
