Contract VMware Expert & Migration Consultant

Engagement: ContractRate: Commensurate with Expert ExperienceWe are a small, agile professional company facing a critical infrastructure evolution, migrating from one private cloud in one data center to another. We are looking for a contract VMware Systems Expert to help us execute our data center migration and greenfield infrastructure build. We need a tactical architect with high availability during the move to be part of a team designing and implementing a small (25 VMs) fortress-like network from scratch.Currently, in MS Hyper-V VMs, we have decided to rebuild our VMs in the new environment instead of a direct technical lift from Hyper-V into VMware. You will lead the design and build of the VMware network with the help of our (not VMware but) otherwise experienced and knowledgeable technical staff and our well-documented list of (about 25) current VMs. Success phase one means meeting the move deadline and going live in the new data center. Long term, we are exploring heading towards containerization.The Ideal CandidatePressure Tested: You have performed data center migrations before and know how to handle the inevitable hiccups calmly. Security-Oriented: You know permissions and how to provide the least access to non-management staff possible. Communicator: You can explain complex network routing to management and give precise instructions to our team.
