Credit Risk Analysts
Role OverviewMercor is hiring experienced Credit Risk Analysts to support a cutting-edge AI research collaboration focused on replicating real-world lending workflows. You will contribute domain expertise to help design and evaluate AI agents performing tasks such as credit decisioning, loan pricing, and risk modeling. This role is ideal for someone with strong analytical experience in underwriting or consumer credit strategy, who understands how credit decisions are made at both the borrower and portfolio levels.• * Key Responsibilities- Evaluate AI-generated credit risk assessments for accuracy, consistency, and regulatory compliance. - Simulate scenarios involving credit approvals, denials, or counteroffers based on borrower data. - Review synthetic applicant files including income, DTI, credit reports, and policy overlays. - Collaborate on rubrics to assess decision quality in areas such as default risk, pricing tiers, and credit policy adherence. - Flag bias triggers or disparate treatment risks in model behavior (e.g., FCRA, ECOA, UDAAP violations).- Provide structured written feedback to research teams and participate in async model evaluation loops. • * Ideal Qualifications- 3+ years experience in credit risk, consumer underwriting, or credit policy roles at a financial institution, fintech, or rating agency. - Deep understanding of FICO scoring, risk segmentation, pricing matrices, and loss forecasting methods. - Proficient with credit decisioning systems and tools (e.g., Experian/Equifax APIs, SAS, SQL, or internal underwriting engines). - Familiarity with regulatory frameworks including ECOA, FCRA, UDAAP, and Fair Lending.- Strong writing and analysis skills; able to explain risk decisions clearly. - Experience working cross-functionally with product, compliance, or data science teams is a plus. • * Project Timeline- Start Date: Immediate (July 15th)- Duration: 4 weeks- Commitment: Part-time, ~20 hours/week- Schedule: Fully remote and asynchronous – work on your own time• * Compensation & Contract- Hourly Rate: $65–$75/hr (USD), depending on experience- Status: Independent Contractor- Payment: Weekly via Stripe Connect### Application & Onboarding Process1.Submit Resume & Application Form2.
