Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and skilled professional to join our ocean product development team, responsible for executing strategies that support the growth of ocean volumes and enhance the development of the ocean product. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with the Managing Director of Ocean, supporting carrier development, pricing, analyzing carrier service, routings, carrier performance, and resolving carrier service issues. You will also serve as an ocean subject matter expert, providing support to sales and operations teams and collaborating with various stakeholders to drive business growth and excellence. Key Responsibilities Implement and communicate strategies to increase volumes, maximize competitiveness, enhance service, and support adherence to the preferred network Assist in implementing pricing programs, reviewing volume targets, and developing an ocean strategy to enhance sales effectiveness and achieve account development and yield enhancement expectations Communicate internally and externally to outline strategy, market conditions, and direction, working closely with the Managing Director of Ocean, global trade lane team, sales, and operations Conduct regular service reviews to ensure agreed-upon KPIs are being met or exceeded, and assist in gathering, analyzing, and reporting information regarding performance and competitive activity Manage the annual budget, controlling, monitoring, and reporting results on a regular basis to achieve budget targets Collaborate with marketing to develop external and internal communications specific to the ocean product, and support sales and operations as needed Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, with at least 8 years of experience in the international freight forwarding industry, including direct ocean experience in working with ocean contracts, negotiating ocean rates, quoting ocean rates, analyzing ocean rates, and routing. Prior ocean carrier experience is a plus. You should be familiar with Microsoft Office applications and possess excellent communication and presentation skills, with a business-oriented mindset and remarkable business acumen. Strong interpersonal and leadership skills are also essential for success in this role.
