Job Overview We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated international freight forwarding professional to join our team as an ocean product development and strategy implementation expert. In this critical role, you will be responsible for executing strategies that support the growth of ocean volumes, enhancing the development of our ocean product, and driving business success through effective carrier development, pricing, and service analysis. You will work closely with the Managing Director of Ocean, as well as other key stakeholders, to develop and implement pricing programs, analyze market conditions, and communicate strategies to internal and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement strategies to increase ocean volumes, maximize competitiveness, and enhance service quality, in collaboration with the Managing Director of Ocean and other key stakeholders Support carrier development, pricing, and service analysis, including negotiating ocean rates, quoting ocean rates, and analyzing ocean rates and routing Work closely with sales and operations teams to ensure compliance with policies and procedures, minimize risk exposure, and achieve volume targets Conduct regular service reviews to ensure agreed-upon KPIs are being met or exceeded, and provide recommendations for improvement Assist in gathering, analyzing, and reporting information regarding performance and competitive activity, and submit reports as required Manage annual budget, control, monitor, and report results on a regular basis to achieve budget targets Work closely with marketing to develop external and internal communications specific to the ocean product Provide direct and indirect customer contact, as required, to ensure exceptional customer service and support Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent, with at least 8 years of experience in the international freight forwarding industry, including direct ocean experience in working with ocean contracts, negotiating ocean rates, quoting ocean rates, analyzing ocean rates, and routing. Prior ocean carrier experience is a plus. You will also need to be familiar with Microsoft Office applications and possess excellent communication and presentation skills, with a strong business orientation and remarkable business acumen.
