As an Ocean Product Development Specialist, you'll work closely with our MD of Ocean, carrier development teams, and sales and operations to implement strategies that enhance our ocean product, maximize competitiveness, and drive business growth. Your expertise will be crucial in analyzing carrier service, routings, carrier performance, and supporting carrier service issues. You'll also support sales and operations as an ocean subject matter expert, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, and promoting the ocean product. **Key Responsibilities:** * Execute strategies to support the growth of ocean volumes and enhance the development of the ocean product * Work closely with the MD of Ocean to support carrier development, pricing, and analyzing carrier service, routings, carrier performance, and supporting carrier service issues * Support sales and operations as an ocean subject matter expert, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures, and promoting the ocean product * Implement and communicate strategies to increase volumes, maximize competitiveness, enhance service, and support adherence to our preferred network * Assist in implementing pricing programs, reviewing volume targets, and working with the TLM to develop an ocean strategy that enhances the effectiveness of sales to achieve expectations of account development and yield enhancement * Communicate both internally and externally to outline strategy, market conditions, and work closely with the MD, Ocean, along with the global trade lane team, sales, and operations to communicate direction and deliverables * Direct and indirect customer contact will be required, ensuring excellent communication and presentation skills * Conduct regular service reviews to ensure agreed-upon KPIs are being met or exceeded * Assist in gathering, analyzing, and reporting information regarding performance and competitive activity; submit reports as required * Work with the MD, Ocean, along with the regional ocean management team, to promote the ocean product and support sales and operations as needed * Manage annual budget, control, monitor, and report results on a regular basis to achieve budget targets * Work closely with marketing to develop external and internal communications specific to the ocean product **Essential Qualifications:** * Bachelor's degree or equivalent * At least 8 years of experience in the international freight forwarding industry, including direct ocean experience in working with ocean contracts, negotiating ocean rates, quoting ocean rates, analyzing ocean rates, and routing * Prior ocean carrier experience is a plus * Familiarity with Microsoft Office apps * Excellent communication and presentation skills * Business-oriented and remarkable business acumen * Strong interpersonal and leadership skills **Preferred Qualifications:** * Experience in developing and implementing pricing programs * Knowledge of ocean carrier service, routings, and performance analysis * Familiarity with global trade lane management and ocean product development * Experience in managing annual budgets and controlling, monitoring, and reporting results **Skills and Competencies:** * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills * Excellent communication and presentation skills * Ability to work in a dynamic environment and prioritize multiple tasks * Strong interpersonal and leadership skills * Business-oriented and remarkable business acumen * Ability to analyze complex data and develop insights to drive business growth * Experience in working with cross-functional teams and promoting collaboration **Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits:** At arenaflex, we're committed to the growth and development of our employees.
