Field Application Scientist – Protein Biology & Membrane Proteins (U.S.) Company Abstract Cube Biotech is a biotechnology company specializing in innovative solutions for the expression, purification, and stabilization of membrane and soluble proteins. Role Abstract The Field Application Scientist (FAS) will support Cube Biotech’s U.S. customers by providing deep scientific expertise in protein biology and hands-on laboratory workflows. This role is highly customer-facing and focuses on technical support, product demonstrations, application troubleshooting, and scientific collaboration. The ideal candidate brings strong laboratory experience and enjoys working directly with researchers in academic, biotech, and pharmaceutical environments. Location Boston, Massachusetts. Remote-based within the Boston area with frequent travel. Reports to Director of Sales, U.S. Key Responsibilities • Provide scientific and technical support to customers using Cube Biotech products and services. • Conduct on-site and virtual product demonstrations, application training, and technical workshops. • Support customers with experimental design, troubleshooting, and optimization of protein workflows. • Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, and R&D to support customer success and adoption. • Represent Cube Biotech at scientific meetings, conferences, and customer visits. • Collect customer feedback to inform product development and application strategy. Qualifications • Mandatory hands-on laboratory experience in protein biology. • Strong experience with protein expression, purification, and characterization workflows. • Experience with Cube Biotech products is strongly preferred. • Experience with membrane proteins is strongly preferred. • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences required; Master’s degree or PhD is a strong plus. • Customer-facing experience is preferred; prior sales experience is not required. • Excellent communication and presentation skills. • Willingness to travel up to 75%. Salary & Benefits Base salary range: USD 70,000 – 140,000 depending on experience.
