Finance North America - Senior Tax Analyst
Job Summary: As a Senior Tax Analyst, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with tax regulations, handle tax notices in various areas of taxation, and providing support for various tax-related projects. Duties/Responsibilities/Primary Function: List the essential job duties that are specific to the position. • Handling payroll related taxes • Prepare and file monthly sales tax returns and Canadian GST/HST tax returns. • Prepare and file other non-income taxes as such revenue/gross receipt tax, property tax, etc. • Prepare and file business licenses and renewals • Respond to tax notices in various area of taxation • Improve tax processes, as appropriate • Provide other tax support tasks as directed Required Skills/Abilities/Profile: • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel • Strong organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously. • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate. • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment. • Working knowledge and understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements. • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, interacting with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders. • Demonstrated commitment to maintaining confidentiality, ethical behavior, and handling sensitive information with professionalism. • Ability to adapt to changing tax laws and regulations, industry trends, and evolving business requirements. Education and Experience: • Associates or Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field - OR - relevant certifications are a plus. • 5+ years professional experience in the following areas of taxation: sales/use tax, payroll related taxes and other non-income taxes (gross receipts tax, property taxes, etc) • Experience with corporate income taxes would be a plus Physical Requirements: • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer of up to 8 hours per day. • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times. • Remote Why Aquent?
