They are a small team, love accounting, and encourage their team to learn, grow, and develop, both inside and outside of work Overall purpose and responsibilities of the role: The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the accurate and efficient preparation of financial statements and working papers using Active Ledger, as well as the processing of BAS, IAS, and annual tax returns for various types of entities. The role involves assisting in tax planning and strategy implementation, while ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality accounting, tax, and business services. The candidate will collaborate directly with Australian accountants and work closely with the team, demonstrating strong teamwork, a willingness to learn, and a positive attitude toward on-the-job training and continuous skill development. Requirements DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Prepare Financial Statements and working papers using Active Ledger Process BAS, IAS, and annual tax returns Assist in tax planning and strategy implementation Collaborate directly with Australian accountants and work closely with the team QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree in accountancy or related field At least 5 years of experience with the Australian Tax System (GST, PAYG, BAS, Capital Gains Tax, Income Tax, etc.) Exposure to Australian public practice Proficiency in Xero, MYOB, and Active Ledger (preferred but not necessary) Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel High attention to detail with strong organizational skills Can take ownership of own workflow Strong written and spoken English communication Strong Initiative and confidence to know how to problem solve and when to ask for assistance What Makes This Role Different Full-cycle accounting: From bas, financial statements to final tax strategies—you’re trusted to see the job through.
