Introduction to Workwarp and the Idaho Falls School District 91 Workwarp, in partnership with the Idaho Falls School District 91, is seeking a highly motivated and patient Special Education Support Aide to join our team of dedicated professionals. As a Special Education Support Aide, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of our written, taught, tested, and reported curriculum, contributing to maximizing student achievement as tested with the Idaho Standards Achievement Test. Our district is committed to providing a well-organized, smoothly functioning class environment that allows students to take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource materials. Job Overview In this limited full-time position, scheduled for 29 hours a week during the school year, you will work under the supervision of a certified teacher to prepare classroom activities for assigned students, reinforce materials initially introduced by the teacher, and assist with non-instructional classroom duties. Your primary goal will be to support the teacher in providing a productive and inclusive learning environment that caters to the diverse needs of our students. Key Responsibilities: Prepare classroom activities for assigned students under the supervision of a certified teacher Work individually or with small groups of students to reinforce materials initially introduced by the teacher, such as drill work, adapted curriculum, and independent study Assist with non-instructional classroom duties, including snack, toilet, and clothing routines Help adapt curriculum and supplementary materials for use in the classroom Guide independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work set up by the teacher Assist in data collection of student progress and maintain high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality Strive to improve and maintain job skills through in-service training programs and other means Essential Qualifications: To be considered for this role, you must have a minimum of 48 college credits or a minimum score of 460 on the ParaPro Praxis. You should demonstrate an aptitude for the work to be performed, be patient yet firm, and able to work and communicate effectively with staff, students, and the public. Previous experience is preferred but not mandatory. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable will also be considered. Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience working with students with special needs Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing situations Basic computer skills and familiarity with educational software High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred Skills and Competencies: To succeed in this role, you should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and other staff members. You should be patient, flexible, and able to adapt to changing situations. Strong organizational skills, basic computer skills, and familiarity with educational software are also essential. Additionally, you should be able to maintain high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality, with a strong commitment to supporting the educational and personal growth of our students.
