Introduction to Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools is a dynamic and innovative school district dedicated to providing high-quality education to its students. As an Instructional Specialist for the TN ALL Corps, you will play a vital role in providing standards-based literacy and math tutoring to students, helping them achieve their full potential and succeed in their academic pursuits. Job Summary The Instructional Specialist, TN ALL Corps will work under the direction of the principal and in collaboration with Accelerating Scholars to deliver high-quality tutoring services to students. This is a 10-month position, contingent upon grant funding, and is expected to last until June 30, 2024. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing small group tutoring, collaborating with classroom teachers, and utilizing data-based decision-making to meet the needs of individual students. Key Responsibilities Provide standards-based literacy and/or math tutoring support to small groups of no more than 3 students using district-approved tutoring curriculum and resources Collaborate regularly with classroom teachers and other appropriate personnel to plan, implement, and adjust instruction along a continuum of increasing intensity based on student needs as identified through multiple sources of data Maintain accurate attendance records and complete required academic progress monitoring assessments with students Provide monthly progress updates to families using provided progress reports Participate in educational team meetings, including ongoing professional development and review of progress Complete all required TN ALL Corps and Accelerating Scholars tutor training modules/courses Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree in education TN Certificated Teaching License 3 years of successful literacy and/or math teaching experience preferred Experience in delivering skills-based literacy and/or math interventions preferred Strong content knowledge in literacy and/or mathematics Ability to implement effective explicit, systematic instruction Data analysis skills Growth Mindset Professional collaboration and problem-solving skills Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in education or a related field Experience working with diverse student populations Knowledge of district-approved tutoring curriculum and resources Experience with data-based decision-making and progress monitoring Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits As an Instructional Specialist for the TN ALL Corps, you will have the opportunity to work with a talented team of educators and professionals who are dedicated to providing high-quality education to students.
