About the Role
We're seeking an exceptional Director, Technical Program Management - Enterprise Platforms Technology to join our team. As a Technical Program Management leader, you'll play a pivotal role in driving strategic initiatives that enhance our Delivery Experience. You'll oversee complex technical projects, align cross-functional teams, and ensure the successful delivery of solutions that propel Capital One's delivery capabilities forward.
Key Responsibilities:
- Spearhead strategic initiatives to enhance various aspects of our Delivery Experience, driving transformative change across the organization.
- Oversee complex technical projects, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery of high-impact solutions.
- Align cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and driving collective success.
- Collaborate closely with senior leadership, leveraging your expertise in program management and technical acumen to inform strategic decisions.
- Develop and grow a team of Technical Program Managers, building the foundations for a robust TPM practice.
- Simplify complex technical concepts, driving well-educated decisions across product, engineering, design, and data science representatives.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, driving execution, follow-through, accountability, and results.
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- A Bachelor's degree in a related technical field (Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent).
- At least 7 years of experience managing technical programs, with a proven track record of success.
- Strong technical background, ideally building highly scalable platforms, products, or services.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and drive change across the organization.
- Excellent problem-solving and influencing skills, with a quantitative approach to problem-solving.
Preferred Qualifications
To take your application to the next level, consider the following preferred qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience designing and building data-intensive solutions using distributed computing.
- 3+ years of experience building distributed systems and highly available services using cloud computing services/architecture (preferably AWS).
- 3+ years of experience building highly scalable mobile products and platforms.
- 3+ years of experience with Agile delivery methodologies.
- 3+ years of experience delivering large and complex programs, owning the business or technical vision, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, and software development tooling.
- Experience building systems and solutions within a highly regulated environment.
- MBA or Master's Degree in a related technical field (Computer Science, Software Engineering) or equivalent experience.

Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary, reflecting our commitment to attracting the best talent. The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are:
- New York City (Hybrid On-Site): $233,100 - $266,000 for Director, Technical Program Management.
In addition to salary, you'll be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives (LTI).
