About the Role
As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you will have the opportunity to work on your own schedule, gaining hands-on teaching experience in a variety of settings. We offer competitive pay rates, with up to $190 for day-to-day assignments and more for long-term assignments. Key Responsibilities
- Teach a variety of subjects, including math, science, English, and social studies, to students of different ages and skill levels
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, adapting to the needs of each classroom and student
- Manage classroom behavior, creating a positive and respectful learning environment
- Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and school administrators, providing feedback and support as needed
- Participate in professional development opportunities, enhancing your teaching skills and knowledge
Qualifications and Requirements
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- An Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits
- Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor
- A NJ Substitute Credential
- A background check and TB risk assessment (we will cover the cost of this)
- Full COVID-19 vaccination
- A passion for education and a commitment to putting students first

Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Experience working with students of different ages and skill levels
- Knowledge of special education principles and practices
