About the Role
This is a full-time position within the Data Technology Group of the Information Technology Division at American Airlines. As an Associate Analyst, you will be the first point of contact for troubleshooting hardware and software issues across the organization. Your expertise and dedication will be crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of our technology infrastructure, enabling us to serve our customers effectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide first-level troubleshooting and resolution for hardware and software issues via phone, escalating complex problems to certified support specialists as needed.
- Offer technical support to end-users for PC hardware, network (Windows 7/Windows XP environments), and server (UNIX/IBM) environments.
- Conduct thorough issue determination for various technology areas, including Voice, WAN, LAN, PC, Printer, Password Resets, and Spot Matrix printers.
- Collaborate with internal and external support teams, as well as third-party vendors, to identify and resolve core issues.
- Replicate or reproduce customer issues to resolve operational challenges and improve our support services.
- Maintain daily awareness of outages and issues across the organization, escalating incidents to acceleration teams to ensure timely customer resolution.
- Communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) with Level 2 support and other management personnel, as necessary.
- Consult with Level 2 support and management on quality issues to determine effectiveness or alignment.
- Work beyond 40 hours as needed and when approved, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to our mission.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding employee, company, and customer data, adhering to all organizational and departmental policies, procedures, and practices.
Essential Qualifications and Experience
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A technical degree or equivalent experience, providing a solid foundation in IT principles and practices.
- At least 2 years of help desk and/or client support experience, demonstrating your ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
- At least 2 years of troubleshooting experience with help desk environments, showcasing your analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge or experience with mainframe/server applications, such as Sabre, QIK, IBM/TSO/TPX, and Staff, which will be beneficial in this role.
Preferred Qualifications and Certifications
While not mandatory, having the following qualifications and certifications will make you a more competitive candidate:
- Apple certification (Apple Certified Support Professional)
- A+ Certificate, demonstrating your expertise in IT hardware and software
