About the Role As a Cardiopulmonary Manager at Post Acute Medical, you'll be responsible for directing and supervising the Respiratory Therapy Department, ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care and overseeing the department's daily operations. This role requires a strong clinical background, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to motivate and inspire a team of professionals to achieve outstanding results. Key Responsibilities Patient Care Functions: Performs scheduled and ordered therapies in a safe and timely manner, ensuring treatments are performed when scheduled. Conducts patient assessments with each treatment, utilizing existing protocols to modify patient therapy as needed. Maintains accurate and complete records of all activities performed, ensuring treatments are documented in the patient record. Demonstrates proper use of the medication dispensing system, including accurate charging and removal/return of medications. Performs ventilator procedures accurately, safely, and completely, and assists with inventory and rental control. Department/Resource Management: Manages respiratory care and laboratory practice, ensuring 24-hour coverage and implementing the respiratory care delivery system. Develops and reviews departmental policies and procedures annually and as needed, sustaining an environment that supports excellence in respiratory practice and care. Translates institutional and professional respiratory values, goals, and objectives to respiratory staff and interdisciplinary team members. Assures compliance with current standards of care established by the profession and regulatory bodies. Coordinates the pulmonary rehabilitation program, ensuring appropriate staffing levels to maintain optimum goal accomplishment by patients. Leadership and Collaboration: Acts as the primary departmental liaison to physicians and other clinicians, communicating the goals and plans of respiratory care to the nursing staff. Participates in performance improvement activities to assure improved patient outcomes. Monitors and implements charge master activities for the respiratory department and laboratory, ensuring accurate and timely charge capture. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you'll need: A license/certification to practice respiratory care in the state of Florida. BLS and ACLS certification. A minimum of three to five years of experience in cardiopulmonary activities, with at least one year of experience in a supervisory capacity. Strong clinical, leadership, and management skills, along with a high level of initiative and creative problem-solving. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively express ideas and views to various stakeholders. A working knowledge of the cardiopulmonary system, respiratory therapy equipment, and laboratory equipment. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable: Advanced certification in respiratory care, such as RRT or CRT. Experience working in a post-acute care setting. A degree in a related field, such as respiratory therapy or healthcare administration.
