Job Overview As a Dog Walker and Pet Sitter with Fetch! Pet Care, you will have the opportunity to work with a variety of pets, from dogs and cats to small mammals and birds. Your duties will include providing 30-minute to 1-hour dog walks, administering medication, and providing overnight pet sitting services. You will be responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of our clients' pets, as well as maintaining open communication with pet owners and our team. Key Responsibilities: Provide 30-minute to 1-hour dog walks, tailored to the individual needs of each pet Administer medication and provide basic care for pets, as needed Offer overnight pet sitting services, providing companionship and care for pets in the comfort of their own homes Maintain open communication with pet owners, providing regular updates and photos Collaborate with our team to ensure seamless care and coordination of services Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge Essential Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications: Live in or within 3 miles of Ballard, Fremont, Queen Anne, or Magnolia Be at least 18 years old (our insurance requires this since we enter into client homes) Have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license Be available to work weekdays, between 8 am and 8 pm, with flexibility to provide overnight services Have a passion for working with pets and providing exceptional care Be able to walk numerous miles per day, depending on the number of services assigned Be compassionate, patient, and reliable, with excellent communication skills Preferred Qualifications: While not required, the following preferred qualifications will make you a stronger candidate for this role: Experience working with pets, either professionally or personally Knowledge of pet behavior, body language, and health issues Ability to lift 25 pounds and stand for long periods Basic first aid and pet CPR certification (or willingness to obtain) High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in animal science, veterinary technology, or related field preferred Skills and Competencies: To excel in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and competencies: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills Basic computer skills and ability to use our scheduling software Physical stamina to walk numerous miles per day and lift 25 pounds Emotional intelligence and empathy, with a passion for providing exceptional care Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits: At Fetch!
