Job Summary As an Elementary Teacher at KCKPS, you will play a vital role in facilitating student comprehension and application of concepts, skills, and behaviors that contribute to the development of mature, able, and responsible members of society. You will work in a hybrid environment, with the flexibility to work remotely and collaborate with colleagues in our office. Key Responsibilities Implement 21st Century Skills into the curriculum to enhance student learning Assess student abilities and plan instruction/learning strategies to meet their needs Manage classroom behavior and participate in school-wide behavior management Communicate with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure student progress Maintain accurate records and reports, including assessment and evaluation documentation Participate in professional growth and development activities, including staff meetings and in-service training Ensure a safe, attractive, and conducive learning environment Participate in extra-curricular activities and IEP meetings for IDEA students Essential Qualifications To be considered for this role, you must: Meet the employment qualifications set forth by the Kansas City, Kansas Board of Education and the Kansas State Department of Education Hold a Kansas teaching certificate in your area of instructional responsibility Possess excellent knowledge of content, curriculum, methods, materials, and equipment relevant to your instructional specialty Demonstrate good knowledge of student growth and development applicable to your assigned grade level Exhibit strong oral and written communication skills Possess excellent human relations skills and the ability to establish effective relationships with students, parents, and peers Preferred Qualifications We prefer candidates with: English as a Second Language (ESL) endorsement or a commitment to obtaining this endorsement Experience working with diverse student populations and promoting inclusive practices Knowledge of current research and theory in education, particularly in areas related to instructional technology and 21st-century skills What We Offer As a member of the KCKPS team, you will enjoy: A competitive salary based on our salary schedule A comprehensive benefits package Opportunities for professional growth and development A collaborative and supportive work environment A chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our students and their families Work Environment Our work environment is dynamic and fast-paced, with a focus on student-centered learning.
