Experienced Financial Controller & Accounting Manager for Multi-Location Veterinary Hospital & Hotel Chain

Key Responsibilities: Leading Financial Management and Growth Accounts Payable & Receivable Oversight : Manage and audit PO processes, invoice entry, payment processing, automatic payments, and statement reconciliations. Ensure seamless sales/accounts receivable processes, including daily sales reconciliations, monthly sales reports, production calculations, and collections. Payroll, Tax, and Compliance : Process payroll, administer retirement plans, calculate and pay monthly sales tax, and organize bank deposits and reconciliations. Financial Statement Preparation & Analysis : Prepare general ledger journal entries in QuickBooks Online, analyze monthly financial statements, and provide insights to drive business decisions. Budgeting & Forecasting : Collaborate with management on budgeting, cash forecasting, and financial planning to support business growth. Intercompany Billings & Corporate Credit Card Administration : Manage intercompany billings and corporate credit card charges, ensuring accurate and timely processing. Accounting Firm Liaison : Work closely with our accounting firm to ensure seamless financial management and compliance. Other Duties as Needed : Provide support and expertise on various financial and administrative tasks as required. Essential Qualifications: The Ideal Candidate Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Related Field : A strong educational foundation in accounting or a related field is essential. Minimum 5 Years of Practical Accounting Experience : Proven experience in accounting, with a focus on small businesses or multi-location entities. CPA (Desired but Not Required) : A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is a plus, but not mandatory. Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) : A solid understanding of GAAP is necessary for success in this role. QuickBooks Online & Google Sheets Proficiency : Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Google Sheets is required. Excellent Communication & Organizational Skills : The ideal candidate will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage competing deadlines. Preferred Qualifications: Adding Extra Value Multi-Location Business Experience : Experience working with businesses that have multiple locations is highly desirable. Proven Track Record of Process Improvement : A history of streamlining financial processes and improving efficiency is a significant plus.
