Job Summary We are seeking a Full-Time Home Care Specialist to join our team in Beaverton, OR. As a Home Care Specialist, you will be responsible for providing non-medical care and support to seniors in their homes. Key Responsibilities Provide companionship and conversation to clients, engaging in activities such as reading, playing games, and watching movies Assist with light housekeeping tasks, including laundry, cleaning, and meal preparation Provide personal care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming Remind clients of medication and appointments, and assist with medication management Provide care and support to clients with Alzheimer's disease and other dementia-related conditions Treat clients and their property with dignity and respect, maintaining a safe and clean environment Communicate with clients in a friendly and congenial manner, responding to their needs and concerns Complete a criminal background check, motor vehicle record check, and drug screen as a condition of employment Possess a valid driver's license and valid auto insurance, with the ability to commute to client locations throughout our territory Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need: Experience working with seniors, either personally or professionally (experience preferred but not necessary, as skills training is provided by Home Instead) A strong commitment to providing compassionate and dignified care to seniors Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and their families Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to changing circumstances A valid driver's license and valid auto insurance, with the ability to commute to client locations throughout our territory Preferred Qualifications While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred: Previous experience working in home care or a related field Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Home Health Aide (HHA) Experience working with clients with Alzheimer's disease and other dementia-related conditions Ability to speak multiple languages, with the ability to communicate with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds Skills and Competencies To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following skills and competencies: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and their families Compassion and empathy, with a strong commitment to providing dignified and respectful care to seniors Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to changing circumstances Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to respond to changing client needs and circumstances Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Home Instead Senior Care, we are committed to providing our employees with opportunities for growth, learning, and development.
