About the Role of Math Instructor
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Math Instructor to join our team of dedicated educators in Fairfield, OH. Key Responsibilities
- Instruct small groups of students in math core skills, focusing on long-term understanding and top scores in college readiness exams (ACT & SAT)
- Track student progress and provide individualized feedback and support to ensure each student reaches their full potential
- Develop and execute innovative lesson plans that incorporate real-world examples and practical applications to inspire a love of learning
- Mentor middle and high school students with empathy and understanding, recognizing the increasing competitiveness and stress of the college application process
- Collaborate with colleagues to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic excellence and personal growth
- Utilize technology, including MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and G-Suites, to enhance instruction and communication with students and colleagues
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in mathematics, education, or a related STEM field (Master's or higher preferred; open to entry-level candidates)
- Teaching experience in math and/or experience working in a college-level tutoring center (1+ years)
- GPA of 3.5 or higher
- Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and G-Suites
- Access to a reliable internet connection and a workspace with minimal noise/distraction
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching at the college or community college level
- Robust understanding of classroom pedagogy and the ability to create customized, engaging lesson plans
- Desire to help students recognize, reach for, and realize their fullest potential
- Dynamic and outgoing personality
- Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
- Mastery of SAT and ACT Math, including Pre-Algebra, Algebra I & II, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Statistics
