About the Role of a Math Instructor We are seeking an exceptional Math Instructor to join our team of dedicated educators in Decatur, AL. As a Math Instructor at Vanguard College Prep, you will play a vital role in shaping the minds of middle and high school students, inspiring them to develop a deep understanding and appreciation of mathematics. You will be responsible for instructing small groups of students in math core skills, tracking their progress, and creating customized lesson plans that foster long-term understanding and top scores in college readiness exams. Key Responsibilities: Instruct small groups of students in math core skills, focusing on topics such as Pre-Algebra, Algebra I & II, Geometry, Trigonometry, and Statistics Track student progress and engage them in individualized growth and improvement opportunities Develop and execute innovative lesson plans that use practical, real-world examples to inspire a love for learning Mentor students with empathy and understanding, recognizing the increasing competitiveness and stress of the college application process Maintain strong organizational skills, including timely communication with students, updating lesson schedules, and holding students accountable for assignments Requirements and Qualifications To be considered for this role, you should possess: A Bachelor's degree or higher in Mathematics, Education, or a related STEM field (Master's or higher preferred) Teaching experience in math and/or experience working in a college-level tutoring center (1+ years) A GPA of 3.5 or higher Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and G-Suites Access to a reliable internet connection and a workspace with minimal noise/distraction Preferred Qualifications: Experience teaching at the college or community college level A robust understanding of classroom pedagogy and the ability to create customized, engaging lesson plans A desire to help students recognize, reach for, and realize their fullest potential A dynamic and outgoing personality The ability to work both independently and in a team environment Mastery of SAT and ACT Math subjects Why Join Vanguard College Prep?
