Job Overview We're seeking qualified Math and Science tutors to provide in-home tutoring to junior high and high school students in Pearland and Friendswood. As a Tutor Doctor Pearland tutor, you'll have the opportunity to work with students who require personalized attention and guidance. Our ideal candidate is knowledgeable about the TEKS curriculum and skilled in teaching local curriculum, study skills, and other relevant content. Key Responsibilities Provide one-to-one tutoring to junior high and high school students in Math and Science Develop and implement personalized tutoring session plans to meet the unique needs of each student Teach STAAR prep and other relevant curriculum to help students achieve academic success Utilize strong typing, PC, and recording skills to maintain accurate records and reports Travel to student locations within a 30-minute radius Maintain reliable communication with students, parents, and Tutor Doctor Pearland staff Qualifications and Requirements To be considered for this role, you'll need to meet the following qualifications: Bachelor's degree or diploma in a relevant field (preferred) Teacher's certification or relevant teaching experience (preferred) Understanding of local curriculum and TEKS standards Minimum of 1 year of experience in teaching and/or tutoring Strong organizational and time management skills Reliable transportation and ability to travel to student locations Access to a computer, internet, and smartphone Additionally, we prefer candidates with: Active teaching certification or experience as a substitute teacher or paraprofessional Special Education teaching experience or background Subject matter expertise in Math and Science Experience working with junior high and high school students Skills and Competencies To succeed as a Tutor Doctor Pearland tutor, you'll need to possess: Strong knowledge of Math and Science curriculum and TEKS standards Excellent teaching and communication skills Ability to create personalized learning plans and adapt to individual student needs Strong organizational and time management skills Proficiency in PC, typing, and recording skills Reliable transportation and ability to travel to student locations What We Offer As a Tutor Doctor Pearland tutor, you'll enjoy: Competitive hourly rates ($19-$23 per hour) depending on experience and qualification Flexible scheduling that allows you to work on your own schedule One-to-one tutoring experience that allows for varied teaching opportunities Access to our Tutor Resource Library and networking opportunities Professional reference and opportunities for career growth Work Environment and Company Culture At Tutor Doctor Pearland, we value our tutors and strive to create a supportive and inclusive work environment.
