Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and passionate Math Tutor to join our team at Mathnasium of Seal Beach. As a Math Tutor, you will play a vital role in creating an engaging and productive learning experience for students. You will be responsible for providing exceptional instruction and tutoring services, participating in positive interactions with parents, and establishing a high level of confidence and program value. Key Responsibilities Provide Exceptional Instruction/Tutoring Services: Deliver high-quality instruction and tutoring services to students, ensuring they understand and master math concepts. Positive Interactions with Parents: Establish strong relationships with parents, providing them with updates on their child's progress and addressing any concerns they may have. Proficient with Digital Educational Materials & Processes: Become familiar with our digital educational materials and processes, ensuring seamless integration into your teaching practices. Teach in-Center or Online: Teach students in-center or online using the Mathnasium Method, terminology, and teaching practices, which include individualized instruction in a group setting. Assess Student Progress: Regularly assess students' progress throughout instructional sessions, working collaboratively with team members to deliver the best possible experience for students. Evaluate, Grade, and Correct Student Work: Evaluate, grade, and correct student work and homework, providing constructive feedback to help students improve. Maintain a Clean & Professional Learning Environment: Assist in maintaining a clean and professional learning environment, ensuring a safe and comfortable space for students to learn. Non-Teaching/ Instructional Tasks: Assist with non-teaching/instructional tasks as needed, supporting the smooth operation of our center. Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications: Passion for Math and Working with Students: A genuine passion for math and working with students is essential, as you will be responsible for creating an engaging and productive learning experience. Excellent Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills are required, as you will be interacting with students, parents, and colleagues on a regular basis. Exceptional Math Competency: You will need to have a strong understanding of math concepts, particularly through at least Algebra I, to provide high-quality instruction and tutoring services. Ability to Balance Various Ongoing Tasks: You will need to be able to balance various ongoing tasks, prioritizing your responsibilities and managing your time effectively. Energetic and Confident Personality: A positive and energetic personality is essential, as you will be working with students and parents in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to Learn and Be Trained: A willingness to learn and be trained is required, as you will be working with our digital educational materials and processes, and will need to become familiar with the Mathnasium Method.
