About the Role: Facilitating Excellence in Computational Fluid Dynamics As an eCornell Online Course Facilitator for Computational Fluid Dynamics, you will play a crucial role in delivering the value of our courses to students worldwide. You'll work closely with Cornell University faculty and our professional instructional design and development teams to ensure a comprehensive and engaging learning experience. Key Responsibilities: Guiding Students to Success Facilitate online courses in Computational Fluid Dynamics, ensuring a high level of student engagement and understanding. Share your applied experience in the field with working adults from around the world, providing real-world insights and examples. Encourage the sharing of reflection and information by students using online platforms, fostering a collaborative learning environment. Assess and provide relevant feedback on student assignments, helping them to improve their skills and knowledge. Collaborate with eCornell staff to contribute to continuous improvement and student engagement, ensuring the highest quality learning experience. Essential Qualifications: The Ideal Candidate To be successful in this role, you will need: A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from a regionally-accredited institution (or non-US equivalent), with a degree in mechanical engineering or a related field being desirable. A minimum of 5 years of experience working with fluid dynamics, computational dynamics, or related disciplines, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong familiarity with ANSYS and a deep understanding of fluid dynamics and computational modeling, specifically in areas such as 2D laminar flows, 3D turbulent flows, rotating machinery flows, and compressible flows. Exceptional communication skills in English, with the ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and concisely. Comfortability with using technology effectively for communication, instruction, and coaching. Preferred Qualifications: Enhancing Your Application While not essential, the following qualifications will enhance your application: Ability and qualifications to facilitate courses in eCornell certificates beyond Computational Fluid Dynamics. Strong familiarity with programming languages, especially MATLAB and Python. Prior teaching, tutoring, or mentorship experience in related disciplines. Online instructional experience, particularly using Integrated Development Environments.
