Job Overview
We're seeking an experienced and highly motivated Assistant Buyer, Graphic Tees to join our team. As an Assistant Buyer, you will play a crucial role in delivering the sales and profit plan for a specific area through the precise execution of a well-conceived merchandise strategy. You will work closely with our buying team to develop and implement product lines, negotiate with vendors, and analyze market trends to ensure we stay ahead of the competition. Key Responsibilities
- Assortment Execution: Run reports and analysis as needed for the buying team, work with the team to suggest newness and freshness to the assortment, and identify category extensions and web growth initiatives to drive category growth.
- Product Development: Take ownership of sample management, relay design comments to vendors, and ensure all final samples are available for ads, floorsets, and styleouts. Aid in the development and assortment of specific classes and product lines to deliver trend-right merchandise.
- Purchase Order Management: Manage the PO entry and revision process, follow up with cross-functional teams, and utilize BI reporting and IP to analyze selling and create reports as needed.
- Market Skills and Awareness: Represent Five Below with integrity, maintain awareness of trends from comp shopping, social media, trade shows, and market appointments, and work with the buyer to negotiate favorable costs, terms, and conditions with all vendors.
- Communication: Develop relationships with cross-functional teams, aid in the resolution and communication of issues and solutions, and maintain open communication with the vendor community on a daily or weekly basis.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree: Required, preferably in a related field such as fashion merchandising, business, or a similar discipline.
- Demonstrable Knowledge: Of evolving trends, fashion industry, and merchandising principles.
- Strong Work Ethic: Commitment to our customer, our people, and the company, with a willingness to learn and embrace all aspects of merchandising.
- Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, with strong written, verbal, and analytical skills.
