Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality instruction and support to students in the absence of their regular teacher Adapt to different teaching environments and curriculum requirements Develop and implement engaging lesson plans to meet the needs of diverse learners Build positive relationships with students, teachers, and school staff Maintain a safe and inclusive classroom environment Communicate effectively with teachers and school administrators regarding student progress and any issues that arise Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance teaching skills and stay updated on best practices Essential Qualifications Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor Background check (we'll cover the cost of this) A passion for education and putting students first An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be Preferred Qualifications Previous teaching or substitute teaching experience Special education or subject-specific expertise (e.g., Math, Science, English, etc.) Experience working with diverse student populations Knowledge of trauma-informed teaching practices and classroom management strategies Skills and Competencies To succeed as a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you'll need: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment Ability to think critically and make sound judgments Strong organizational and time management skills A commitment to ongoing learning and professional growth What We Offer At Scoot Education, we're dedicated to supporting our substitutes and helping them thrive.
