About the Role As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you'll have the flexibility to choose your assignments and work on your own schedule. We're looking for educators who are not only qualified but also passionate about making a difference in the lives of their students. With our competitive pay rates, up to $176 for day-to-day assignments and more for long-term assignments, you'll be rewarded for your expertise and dedication. Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality instruction and support to students in the absence of their regular teacher Manage classroom environments to ensure a productive and respectful learning space Develop and implement lesson plans as provided by the regular teacher or as needed Build positive relationships with students, teachers, and school staff Participate in 1:1 check-ins with your designated Scoot consultant to discuss school feedback and develop your skills Engage in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your teaching practices Essential Qualifications Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor Background check (we'll cover the cost of this) A passion for education and putting students first An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be Preferred Qualifications Previous experience as a Substitute Teacher or in a related educational role Specialized training or certifications in areas such as Special Education, English as a Second Language, or STEM education Experience working with diverse student populations and age groups (Kinder, Early Years, Elementary, Middle, High School) Skills and Competencies To succeed as a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you'll need: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to adapt to new classroom environments and lesson plans Strong classroom management skills Flexibility and willingness to work varied schedules A commitment to ongoing learning and professional growth Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Scoot Education, we're dedicated to helping our substitutes grow in their careers.
