About the Role As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you'll have the opportunity to work in Waldwick, NJ schools, providing high-quality instruction and support to students. Our hybrid model allows you to choose when and where you work, giving you the flexibility to manage your schedule effectively. Key Responsibilities Provide day-to-day and long-term substitute teaching services in Waldwick, NJ schools, following the lesson plans and instructions left by the regular teacher. Manage classroom behavior, ensuring a safe and respectful learning environment for all students. Deliver instruction, engage students, and promote academic achievement. Communicate effectively with school staff, administrators, and parents. Participate in 1:1 check-ins with your designated Scoot consultant to discuss school feedback, develop your skills, and address any concerns. Essential Qualifications Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits. Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor. NJ Substitute Credential. Background check and TB risk assessment (we'll cover the cost of this). Full COVID-19 vaccination. A passion for education and putting students first. An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be. Preferred Qualifications Previous teaching or substitute teaching experience. Special education or paraprofessional experience. Experience working with diverse student populations. Skills and Competencies Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
