About the position The Financial & Investment Manager at CalPERS is responsible for overseeing the Financial & Investment Analysis Section within the Financial Accounting Services Division. This role involves managing complex financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and preparing various financial reports. The manager will work closely with staff and executives to maintain accurate financial reporting for all funds administered by CalPERS, while also directing public and private market investment accounting functions. Responsibilities • Act as the manager for the Financial & Investment Analysis Section, overseeing specialized operations. , • Utilize financial reporting software to prepare and analyze qualitative and quantitative data in compliance with accounting standards. , • Plan, organize, and manage the preparation of monthly reports, quarterly financial statements, and annual audited financial statements. , • Manage and direct public and private market investment accounting functions. , • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders affecting financial reporting and investment accounting. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. , • Significant experience in financial reporting and investment accounting. , • Proven ability to manage and direct accounting activities for public and private market investments. , • Experience in developing financial reports and implementing GASB pronouncements. , • Strong analytical skills to analyze investment accounting transactions and produce financial reports.
