Hiring Experienced Director of Safety in Transportation - GPAC - Dayton, OH - work from home job Company: GPAC Job description: Hiring Immediately for the following career position Transportation Director of Safety Salary: $90k-$110K Company Full Benefits – including 401K with 50% match on first 4% contribution. Experience: 2-3 years Location: Dayton Ohio area Job Description: • Train and motivate employees to follow federal, state and company guidelines and safety standards to protect the public, and the organization. • Work directly with off-site terminal managers explaining and emphasizing safety measures. • Supervise and direct activities of five Regional Field Safety Managers. • Conduct classroom training and identify remote training technologies/opportunities to serve drivers, mechanics, and office employees. • Monitor and update training for all new and existing drivers, shop, and office personnel. • Work with Recruiting, Risk and HR departments to ensure all safety manuals, programs, policies, and practices are current and meet the needs of the operating divisions. • Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on safety trends as required or requested. • Ensure new-hire drivers meet federal and company qualifications. • Manage DOT Part 40 compliance for drivers and CDL mechanics. • Communicate effectively and work in concert with all departments. • Ensure safety technology tools are fully utilized and those results are examined, and plans are developed to reduce and prevent future safety incidents. • Ensure corporate safety incentives and programs are managed effectively and consistently. • Ensure a consistent safety culture throughout the locations that incorporates operations, safety and maintenance departments. Emphasize a team approach and individual responsibility of all employees to achieve common goals. • Lead the investigation into accidents and injuries for determination of cause and preventability. Identify trends to be addressed in future training efforts. • Lead the company’s Compliance Department.
