About the Role: Lakefront Team Member - Memorial Union As a Lakefront Team Member, you will play a vital role in delivering outstanding customer service, ensuring seamless food service operations, and contributing to the lively atmosphere of our lakefront restaurants, Strada and Carte. Key Responsibilities: Customer Service and Cashiering: Provide exceptional customer service, handle cash and credit transactions accurately, and ensure a positive dining experience for all guests. Food Preparation and Handling: Assist with food preparation, cooking, and handling, including meat preparation, and maintain a clean and safe working environment. Food Service Support: Support food service operations as needed, including serving alcohol in accordance with university policies and procedures. Maintaining a Clean Work Environment: Ensure that your work area is clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety standards. Flexibility and Teamwork: Be flexible with your schedule, work collaboratively with your team, and adapt to changing situations and priorities. Strada and Carte Operations: Contribute to the smooth operation of either Strada, where you'll make pizzas and pasta bowls, or Carte, where you'll build salads and sandwiches to order. Schedule and Work Environment: Anticipated Hours Per Week: 8 or more hours per week, with a flexible schedule that accommodates your class schedule and other commitments. Shift Requirements: At least one weekend shift per week and at least one closing shift per week, with a minimum of 2-3 shifts per week, each approximately 4-6 hours long. Unit Hours: 10am - 11pm, with varying shifts to ensure coverage across our operating hours. Qualifications and Requirements: Essential Qualifications: Punctuality and Reliability: A strong commitment to being on time and dependable in your work. Teamwork and Communication: The ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly with colleagues and customers. Prior Food Experience: While not required, prior experience in food service or a related field is helpful. Physical Demands: Ability to stand for long periods, move efficiently, and lift as necessary. Student Status: Currently enrolled in a college, university, or high school (at least 16 years old). For those on break, intent to enroll in courses the following semester is required. Preferred Qualifications: Food Handling Certification: Possession of a food handling certification or willingness to obtain one. Leadership Experience: Previous leadership or team lead experience in a customer service or food service environment.
