Position Overview As a Mitigation Negotiator, you'll play a key role in NovaData's Turnkey service by reviewing restoration invoices, analyzing supporting documentation, identifying inconsistencies, and negotiating with restoration contractors to achieve well-supported, defensible pricing agreements. You'll leverage Rest-Assured®, our proprietary audit platform, together with the NovaData Audit Methodology and your restoration expertise to ensure every file is reviewed consistently, accurately, and in accordance with IICRC standards and industry best practices. This is a highly independent remote contractor role. While onboarding and coaching are provided, this position is best suited for professionals who are self-directed, technologically proficient, and comfortable applying the NovaData Audit Methodology. Every loss is different, and successful negotiators consistently apply the NovaData Audit Methodology while leveraging their restoration expertise to evaluate the unique facts of each claim and support defensible outcomes. Key Responsibilities • Review Rest-Assured audit reports, restoration invoices, labor logs, equipment logs, drying documentation, photographs, and supporting documentation to identify unsupported charges, billing discrepancies, excessive equipment usage, labor concerns, inflated rates, and deviations from industry standards. • Leverage Rest-Assured®, the NovaData Audit Methodology, and your restoration expertise to validate findings and develop defensible recommendations. • Negotiate restoration invoices directly with restoration contractors to achieve well-supported, defensible pricing agreements. • Clearly document audit findings, negotiation discussions, pricing agreements, and supporting rationale for client review and internal quality standards. • Become proficient with NovaData's technology platform, collaboration tools, and workflows to independently manage assigned files from initial review through completion of the negotiation process. • Identify complex files, recurring billing trends, documentation deficiencies, or restoration contractor concerns and escalate when appropriate. • Provide feedback to improve NovaData's platform, workflows, and Audit Methodology by identifying opportunities to automate recurring audit activities, enhance platform functionality, and improve operational efficiency. • Stay current on IICRC standards, mitigation best practices, and industry trends. Required Qualifications • 6+ years of experience in restoration, mitigation, insurance adjusting, or a related field. • IICRC WRT certification required. • Strong working knowledge of IICRC standards and mitigation best practices. • Demonstrated experience reviewing restoration invoices and supporting documentation to identify billing discrepancies and develop defensible findings using industry standards and restoration expertise. • Demonstrated success negotiating restoration invoices with restoration contractors to achieve well-supported, defensible pricing agreements. • Working knowledge of Xactimate or the ability to quickly become proficient using estimating and pricing tools. • Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate, defend, and negotiate audit findings. • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote environment while consistently applying the NovaData Audit Methodology across a wide variety of losses. • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to quickly learn and independently use multiple software platforms, collaboration tools, virtual desktop environments, and proprietary applications. Preferred Qualifications • Additional IICRC certifications, including AMRT, ASD, FSRT, HST, or asbestos-related certifications. • Hands-on restoration experience with leadership responsibilities, such as leading mitigation operations, managing restoration projects, supervising field personnel, or owning a restoration business. • Experience reviewing a broad range of residential and commercial mitigation losses, including water, fire, mold, and asbestos losses. • Experience identifying opportunities to improve operational workflows, leverage technology, or enhance business processes within restoration or claims operations. Pay: $50.00 - $60.00 per hour Work Location: Remote
