SR Staffing is seeking a Director of Finance And Accounting to oversee financial reporting and performance measurement for private funds. The role involves leading the review of financial statements and performance metrics while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and developing a high-performing team.
Responsibilities
- Lead the review and validation of private fund financial statements, investor reporting packages, and performance calculations
- Review and analyze private equity and alternative investment performance metrics, including:
- IRR (Internal Rate of Return)
- MOIC (Multiple on Invested Capital)
- TVPI (Total Value to Paid-In Capital)
- DPI (Distributions to Paid-In Capital)
- Ensure performance reporting and marketing materials align with SEC Marketing Rule requirements
- Oversee testing and validation of:
- Management fees
- Carried interest calculations
- Waterfall structures
- Expense allocations
- Interpret LPAs, side letters, fund agreements, and fee schedules to develop and implement review methodologies
- Identify discrepancies, financial reporting issues, and control gaps while driving timely resolution
- Deliver high-quality client reporting and ensure engagement timelines are met
- Build scalable processes, controls, and documentation standards to support continued growth
- Develop and lead a high-performing team over time
- Monitor industry trends, regulatory developments, and best practices affecting private fund reporting and performance measurement
Skills
- 6+ years of relevant experience, including at least 4+ years in: Private fund financial reporting
- Performance measurement
- Fund accounting
- Fee and expense review
- Fund administration
- Strong understanding of private fund economics, fee structures, waterfalls, and expense allocations
- Experience calculating and reviewing private fund performance metrics
- Knowledge of ASC 946 and investment company accounting principles
- Familiarity with SEC Marketing Rule requirements and fund performance presentation standards
- Experience interpreting: Limited Partnership Agreements (LPAs)
- Side Letters
- Fund governing documents
- Fee arrangements
- Background in consulting, fund administration, public accounting, audit, or investment management environments
- CPA, CFA, or similar professional designation preferred
