Sr. Accountant 100% Remote | WFH

Position Overview We are seeking a Senior Accountant responsible for delivering accurate financial information to management, auditors, and regulatory bodies while meeting the needs of both internal and external stakeholders. This role involves guiding others in best accounting practices, requiring discretion with complex and confidential data within the Property and Casualty (P&C) Accounting... domain. Essential Job Functions • Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual processing of accounting data for reporting requirements. • Address inquiries from management, auditors, and regulatory authorities. • Prepare, review, and submit regulatory filings. • Respond to external auditors', state examiners', and regulatory authorities' requests. • Generate analytical reports as needed by management. • Assist in various departmental responsibilities and special projects. • Mentor and supervise Accounting staff. • Collaborate closely with the PC Accounting team for reporting requirements. Additional Responsibilities • Manage monthly financial statement preparation. • Execute annual intercompany allocations. • Maintain the property and casualty reinsurance program. • Prepare schedules for quarterly and annual statements per NAIC's SSAPs. • Reconcile monthly bank statements and accounts. • Administer the general ledger system, including new account approval and accounting period maintenance. Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to collect and analyze data to draw valid conclusions. • Proficiency in GAAP, with excellent organizational and prioritization abilities to meet multiple deadlines. • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel. • Experience in supervising or coordinating the work of others.
