Staff Accountant - 6 month contract

Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staff Accountant to join our finance team. Staff Accountant 6 month contract Remote - Must be local to Irvine, CA Responsibilities • We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced, Staff Accountant Contractor to support our finance and accounting team on a contractual basis, approx. 30-40 hours per week. This role is crucial in ensuring compliance with financial regulations. The Staff Accountant Contractor will play a key role in maintaining day to day activity, cost accounting, and supporting month end close activities. • Key Responsibilities: • Finance & Accounting: Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. • Minimum of 5 years experience as a Staff Accountant or similar role. • Proficiency in financial software (ERP systems) and Microsoft Excel. • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls. • Experience with financial modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis. • Exceptional attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to handle multiple priorities. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to travel on-site occasionally if requested. • Position reports to the Controller and will support both the Controller and Director of Finance for the organization. • Cost accounting, familiarity with standard cost systems, BOM set up and variance analysis. • Fixed Asset management. • Perform monthly account reconciliations. • Prepare monthly journal entries. • Support day-to-day operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable and production accounting. • Support year-end financial audit; provide documents and support to external auditors as requested.
