Our Schools KIPP Impact Academy: Kindergarten - 3rd grade, 6th - 8th grade KIPP VOICE Academy: Kindergarten - 8th grade KIPP Bessie Coleman Academy: Kindergarten - 8th grade KIPP Bold City High School: 9th - 11th grade The Teaching Fellow Program The Baker Teaching Fellowship program is designed for individuals launching a career in urban public education. As a Teaching Fellow, you'll be placed as a co-teacher in one of our schools, working alongside experienced educators. You'll receive focused development, support, and structure to help you grow as a teacher. Our goal is to promote you to a lead teacher position after completing the fellowship year. Key Responsibilities Create a positive classroom environment that fosters engagement and learning Implement our curriculum and assess student progress Collaborate with your team to develop and improve instructional practices Build relationships with families and communicate effectively Participate in professional development and coaching sessions Take on additional responsibilities as the year progresses Qualifications Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree Florida Teaching Certification or Equivalent (or pending) For primary classrooms: Florida certification in Pre-K/Primary – Grade 3 or Elementary Education K-6 For fifth, sixth, or ninth grades: Florida certification in Elementary Education K-6 or Middle Grades 5-9 in a particular subject area For high school: Florida certification in Secondary 6-12 in a particular subject area Embody KIPP Jacksonville Public Schools' core values Deep commitment to racial and educational equity for all children Passing a background check, as required by law Preferred Qualifications Experience as an intern, substitute, tutor, teacher's aide, paraprofessional, or similar role in a Title I school setting What We Offer Compensation and Benefits Full-time salary during the fellowship year: $47,500 Upon successful completion of the program and an offer of a first-year lead teacher position: $50,000 Free individual medical benefits (medical, dental, and vision) Short and long-term disability insurance 403(b) retirement program with a company match Professional Growth and Development Individualized coaching and professional development Opportunities to lead and support your team Weekly professional development and content team meetings Work Environment and Culture Our schools are vibrant communities where educators, students, and families come together to learn and grow.
