Medicaid Behavioral Health Billing Research Analyst (Substance Use Disorder / ASAM Codes) - Contract to Hire
I am looking for a highly detail-oriented research analyst with experience in Medicaid billing, behavioral health services, and substance use disorder (SUD) programs. The project involves gathering concrete billing data for all 50 states, including:- Medicaid fee schedules- ASAM Level of Care billing codes- Covered services- Units/limits- Concurrent billing rules- Allowed HCPCS/CPT codes- Any state-specific Medicaid SUD documentationYou will be working inside a structured Google Sheet with predefined fields.Your responsibilities:- Research each state’s Medicaid website for SUD codes and rate schedules- Identify billing codes for ASAM levels:-3.7- 3.5- 3.3 / 3.1-2.5- 2.1- 1.0- MAT/OTP codes- Peer ServicesLog units per day/week, per diem limits, and stacking rulesRecord links to official documents (PDFs, manuals, provider guides)Highlight anything unclear or needing confirmationEnsure all information is accurate, up-to-date, and sourcedRequiredExperience:- Strong background in medical billing or RCM- Experience with Medicaid (preferred: SUD, behavioral health, or ASAM programs)- Ability to interpret Medicaid provider manuals and fee schedules- Familiarity with HCPCS & CPT codes- Strong research and documentation skills- Excellent English and attention to detailIdeal Candidate:- Experience with addiction treatment billing (detox, residential, IOP, MAT)- Experience researching codes- Worked with state Medicaid systems previously- Can work independently and deliver accurate results- Comfortable handling repetitive but critical research tasks Apply tot his job
