About the positionResponsibilities• Perform billing and collection processes for outpatient pharmacy, durable medical equipment, skilled nursing facility, home health agency, or continuing care retirement center. • Conduct service pre-certification and insurance coverage review. • Determine personal responsibility and communicate with patients regarding their accounts. • Submit claims, review denials, rebill, and manage appeals. • Handle accounts receivable management. • Utilize problem-solving and customer service skills to resolve billing and payment issues.• Interpret and communicate Mayo Clinic financial policies to ensure optimal reimbursement. Requirements• Associate Degree in finance, business, or healthcare-related majors and 1 year of experience in medical, pharmacy, or durable medical equipment billing and collection activities. • High school diploma/GED with at least 3 years of experience in medical, pharmacy, or durable medical equipment billing and collection activities. • Certified pharmacy tech with 2 years of experience. • Strong written and verbal communication skills.• 1-2 years of experience submitting pharmacy prior authorizations. • Experience working with Windows-based software, Microsoft Word, Excel, and the Internet. • Keyboarding experience. Nice-to-haves• Claims management software experience. • Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) Certification.
