Probate and Litigation Paralegal
About the Role: A detail-oriented and reliable Paralegal is needed to support litigation and probate-related legal work for a U.S.-based law practice. This role focuses on legal document preparation, court filings, discovery support, and case organization. The Paralegal will work closely with attorneys to assist in preparing legal materials, managing case documentation, and supporting court procedures. Candidates with prior U.S. law firm experience—especially in litigation, probate, or trust matters—are strongly preferred. This role requires precision, confidentiality, and familiarity with U.S. legal workflows. Training on firm-specific procedures will be provided. Key Responsibilities: Litigation & Legal Support: • Draft and format discovery documents, pleadings, and legal correspondence based on attorney instructions and templates. • Assist with litigation preparation by reviewing documents for completeness, accuracy, and proper organization. • Support case preparation by organizing materials needed for filings, hearings, or internal legal review. • Handle electronic filing of legal documents with U.S. courts, including county-level e-filing systems, ensuring correct formatting, submission, and confirmation of acceptance. • Maintain up-to-date litigation files so attorneys can quickly access relevant case materials. Probate & Trust Support: • Assist in preparing probate and trust-related forms and filings by organizing required information and supporting documents. • Compile exhibits, declarations, and evidence packets according to filing or submission requirements. • Track probate and trust-related deadlines, court dates, and filing requirements to ensure timely submission and follow-up. • Help ensure probate and trust matters move forward smoothly by keeping documentation complete and properly organized. Case Organization & Compliance: • Maintain accurate, well-organized digital case files in accordance with firm standards and naming conventions. • Ensure all documents are stored, labeled, and handled properly to support confidentiality and data privacy requirements. • Coordinate with attorneys and administrative staff to confirm task completion, follow-ups, and next steps. • Support consistent case management by keeping records current and ensuring no required documents or actions are missed. Qualifications & Ideal Traits: • Prior experience as a paralegal or legal assistant in a U.S. law firm environment. • Litigation experience required; probate or trust experience preferred but not mandatory. • Familiarity with U.S. court procedures and electronic filing systems. • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow legal instructions precisely. • Excellent written communication skills. • Comfortable working remotely with minimal supervision. • Reliable internet, professional workspace, and tested audio/video setup. • Availability during US Pacific Time hours.
