[Remote] EXTERNAL AFFAIRS MANAGER -STATE GOVERNMENT RELATIONS - 2 OPENINGS

OCHIN, Inc. is a nonprofit leader in health care innovation, seeking an External Affairs Manager to lead state-level legislative and regulatory advocacy efforts. The role involves developing advocacy strategies, building relationships with policymakers, and representing OCHIN across multiple states. Responsibilities • Lead state government relations strategies aligned with organizational priorities • Track, analyze, and influence state legislation and regulations • Draft testimony, comment letters, and policy/data briefs • Build relationships with legislators, agencies, coalitions, and members • Represent OCHIN in hearings, workgroups, and advocacy forums • Other duties as assigned Skills • Minimum of 5 years of state government relations experience required • Demonstrated success influencing state policy outcomes • Strong writing and advocacy skills • Skilled at producing high-quality advocacy materials to support state advocacy and member engagement • Prior to moving forward to the team interview, all candidates are required to complete a 50–60-minute competency assessment • Travel up to 70% is required for this position • Ability to work independently and efficiently from a home office environment • High Speed Internet Service • It is a requirement that employees work in a distraction free workplace • COVID-19 vaccination required as a condition of employment • Bachelor's degree preferred • Experience /working knowledge in health information technology highly preferred • Experience with community health centers and/or rural hospitals highly preferred Benefits • Comprehensive range of benefits Company Overview • OCHIN is a nonprofit leader in health care innovation and a trusted partner to a growing national provider network.
